Latashá, 2022: A10, full song
Two shows with Latashá on the Wave platform. The first proved out the next generation of Wave’s performer systems, live on PC and VR at once. The second, in April 2025, brought her back for the Wave x Meta series.
The first show was a platform milestone. It carried a new avatar architecture and visual style, facial capture, suitless full-body capture and modular stage construction, with avatar transitions driven by the state of the show and one runtime serving PC and VR audiences in sync.
It also put the audience on stage. Latashá could summon fans up beside her mid-song, their names lit across the set, while the crowd glowed and moved around her.
Before the build I met with Latashá to get a read on her style and vibe, and pulled from what she already had: tour looks, album art and footage of live sets. That reference shaped her avatar and the run of show, from the pink orb stage to the magenta and gold set where fans joined her.
From there I oversaw construction. I owned the show tools and the scene builds, approved the visuals at every review, tracked the tasks and made the call on when each one was done. In the studio she performed live in front of an LED wall showing the virtual stage, and I held the visual bar on the capture and the performance.
By April 2025 that work had become the Wave x Meta format. Latashá came back with an updated avatar and played from the Wave studio while the stage, lighting and camera looks ran in real time around her.
Her shows also fed the platform. As the library of tools and content grew, I wrote the specs and direction for new show features, covering how they ran, how they looked and how the audience played with them, then oversaw implementation.
